It’s Editing Day! Yay!

Part 2 Production and Engagement

Applauders,

Thanks for helping to get the Bat Signal on last week while waiting for Part 2 of our review of Tim Burton’s “Batman Returns”!

Jonathan will be throwing himself into the editing pit this afternoon (OK, we pushed him), to produce Part 2, in preparation for this Tuesday’s release.

We are in full-on squee mode, and can’t wait for you to hear our dive into the Penguin’s journey of self discovery, the coupling of two costumed night creatures, and more than a few rants about the patriarchy.

Just listening and haven’t subscribed?  Go to podcast.shockedandapplaud.com on your mobile device to pull it up in your preferred Podcasting app!  Then click that subscribe button, because we’ll have Part 3 out before you realize it’s been another two weeks.

Thanks for being awesome,

The Shocked & Applaud Team

Episode Three Session 2

You might think we have some fancy sound booth, but this nerd den in Naomi’s home in Tacoma is just about all we need to record, before Jonathan makes those dank cuts.

These photos are from Episode 3, which still had plenty of laughter in what is definitely our darkest movie review yet.

Want to know more about how we produce? We’ll have additional content about our wily methods, available on shockedandapplaud.com! And if you haven’t marked your calendars: we’re only one week away from Part 2 of Tim Burton’s “Batman Returns”.

Getting to Know our Applauders

Updated 10:00 AM Pacific, October 20, 2018

We’re closing in on a $15 24-hour ad, which was a “first one is free” promo from Facebook. Trying to get our gambler/marketer addiction going? Nice try, Mark!

You can see in our screenshot that we had a little less than %1 engagement. That’s actually not too shabby for a brand with 0% public recognition. More importantly, we’re seeing real listeners come through iTunes.

We also discovered our three largest demographics, with men displaying roughly 2x more interest. What’s up with that, girl?

Lastly, we limited ourselves to a WA state audience for better context — our Web server is in OR, so visitors would get a better experience than downloading from say, the east coast.

These types of details and updates will be available to Patreon members soon!

Want more?  Purrrfect.  We’ll be back October 30th with Part 2!

Thankfully, we held back the barf long enough to continue reviewing this part of the film.  Here’s Part 2 of Episode 1, Kevin Smith’s “Tusk”.

Everyone has their “butterfly” moment when they find their whole life changed. For Wallace, butterflies can hardly describe the transition he has been undergoing.

Do you have a spirit animal, dear Applauder? Well, here’s to a healthy amount of restraint in forcing others to endure your whiskered beast inside.

This episode has references to on-screen acts of a sexual nature. And you should absolutely feel bad if those scenes do anything for you except gross you the bleep out.

Look at you!  You survived our first full episode in three parts. All things considered, we thought you would have forgotten about us and all the smarts we have to share. Let our third act smackdown review commence in Episode 1 Part 3, Kevin Smith’s “Tusk”!

If you’re not lost at sea, join us for Wallace’s rescue … sort of … with a little help from his friends.  But before then,  you’ll have to endure scenes of Wallace’s pre-trauma past, a final stop to meet the Yoga Hosers, and a boss battle to end all boss battles.

Endure the punishment, Applauder! Your reward is your life.
