… and a New Patreon-Only Site!

Hey Applauders!

We’ve been working hard these past two weeks between editing.  We want to make it as easy as possible for you as a Patreon subscriber at any level.

To that end, you’ll see that Patreon subscribers can log in to patron.shockedandapplaud.com now, to gain access to next year’s listener growth updates, blog posts, and unbleeped episodes.

We’ll be keeping our hands warm on cozy phones this December, and we hope you’ll join us for more “Die Hard” straight through, into Christmas week.

Ho-Ho-Hope you get your fill of goodies!

Listen Well,

Jonathan

Achieving Peak Peculiarity | 100 Listens!

Stats for 11/23/2018

Hey, Applauders!

We’d like to thank you on this Black Friday, for opening your Podcast apps as you travel from shop to shop (or browser tab to browser tab).

You can see in our listener stats overview that we’ve reached parity of listens for Part 1 of Guillermo del Toro’s “Pan’s Labyrinth” when compared to listens for Tim Burton’s “Batman Returns”.  You’re amazing! Thanks for venturing into the woods with us, and into more rebel encampments.

Also, with the addition of “Pan’s Labyrinth”, we have also had over 100 listens! Woohoo for you!  Woohoo for everyone.

Want to help boost our signal? Use your sharing thumbs to let your friends know about our off-color cinema rants, to help this woman-owned startup climb those podcasting search engine ladders.

May the algorithms ever be on your side, Applauder.

Getting to Know our Applauders

Updated 10:00 AM Pacific, October 20, 2018

We’re closing in on a $15 24-hour ad, which was a “first one is free” promo from Facebook. Trying to get our gambler/marketer addiction going? Nice try, Mark!

You can see in our screenshot that we had a little less than %1 engagement. That’s actually not too shabby for a brand with 0% public recognition. More importantly, we’re seeing real listeners come through iTunes.

We also discovered our three largest demographics, with men displaying roughly 2x more interest. What’s up with that, girl?

Lastly, we limited ourselves to a WA state audience for better context — our Web server is in OR, so visitors would get a better experience than downloading from say, the east coast.

These types of details and updates will be available to Patreon members soon!
